Native AI.
Human Story.

1440 Studios is built on AI-native production. We believe transparency about how we use these tools is not a legal obligation — it is a creative and ethical one.

This page describes how AI is used across our productions, what role human directors and creators play at every stage, and the principles that govern our practice. It is a living document, updated as our tools and standards evolve.

01

AI-Assisted Cinematic Image & Sequence Generation

What AI Does

Generates visual frames, sequences, and cinematic imagery from text and reference prompts.

What Humans Do

Human directors define every visual prompt, select and reject outputs, perform editorial assembly, apply color and grade, and make all final decisions about what appears on screen. No AI-generated image is used without explicit human approval.

AI generates. Humans direct, select, and authorize.
02

AI-Assisted Voice Synthesis

What AI Does

Synthesizes spoken voice performance from script text.

What Humans Do

Human directors write all scripts, direct performance tone and pacing, and approve every final voice take. AI voice synthesis is treated as a performance instrument — the same way a musician uses a synthesizer. The creative intent is always human.

AI performs. Humans write, direct, and authorize.
03

AI-Assisted Music & Sound Composition

What AI Does

Generates musical themes, underscore, and sound design elements from compositional prompts.

What Humans Do

Human composers and directors define the emotional and structural brief for every cue, select from generated outputs, edit and arrange the final score, and make all decisions about what is heard in the final cut.

AI composes. Humans curate, arrange, and authorize.
04

AI-Assisted Research & Development

What AI Does

Assists with research synthesis, script development support, and production planning.

What Humans Do

All story development, character creation, narrative structure, thematic intent, and editorial voice originate with human writers and producers. AI is used as a research and drafting tool — not as an author. No AI-generated text appears in final scripts without substantial human revision and authorship.

AI assists. Humans author.
05

AI-Assisted Previsualization

What AI Does

Generates concept imagery, storyboard references, and world-building visuals for internal development use.

What Humans Do

Previsualization outputs are internal production tools only. They are used to test ideas, communicate vision to collaborators, and accelerate creative decisions — not as finished deliverables. All final production assets are separately directed and approved.

AI previews. Humans decide.

What Humans
Always Control

01

Story Originates with Humans

Every 1440 Studios project begins with a human story — lived experience, investigative research, or original creative vision. AI does not generate our stories. It helps us realize them.

02

Humans Make All Final Creative Decisions

No AI output — visual, audio, or textual — appears in a final 1440 Studios production without explicit human review, selection, and authorization by a credited director or producer.

03

AI Does Not Replace Credited Talent

We do not use AI to replace the work of writers, composers, voice artists, or animators who would otherwise be credited and compensated for that work on a given production. AI tools are used to extend and accelerate human creative capacity.

04

We Disclose AI Use in All Productions

Every 1440 Studios production that incorporates AI-generated elements will carry an appropriate disclosure in its credits and accompanying documentation. We support emerging industry standards for AI disclosure and will update our practices as those standards develop.

05

We Do Not Train AI on Others' Work Without Authorization

1440 Studios does not use third-party creative works — scripts, performances, compositions, or visual art — as training data for AI systems without explicit authorization from rights holders.

"Technology is a collaborator. It is not the author. Every story that carries the 1440 Studios name was conceived, directed, and authorized by human beings who are accountable to the audience it serves."
